10/15/2014 "Tremors 5" Officially in Production, Ass Blasters and Graboids Return!

In a recent interview with Glen Ross, the Executive Vice President at Universal, not only were plot points revealed about the upcoming Tremors film, but also was the knowledge that the film is already in production! According to Bloody-Disgusting, Michael Gross will return as firearm fanatic Burt Grummer, but this time he will be accompanied by a new face, Jamie Kennedy, playing his right-hand man, Travis. "In this all new adventure that travels halfway around the world to South Africa," Ross explains, "the Graboids and the Ass Blasters are not only bigger and badder, but Tremors 5 introduces an additional, unexpected surprise that raises the stakes in the battle for survival."

Tremors 5 will be released direct-to-Blu-Ray/DVD in 2016.

Personally, I'm excited for this movie! After 10 years of waiting for a sequel, the wait is finally over. Without a doubt, there will certainly be cheesy moments of lackluster effects and borderline acting, but that's not why movies like this are made. The Tremors franchise has gathered such a cult following that groups and forums across the internet have been waiting on the edge of their seat, myself included, for another film. Well, in less than two years we will finally have our prayers answered! In fact, I think I might just watch a Tremors marathon tonight.

Tremors 5 is preceded by Tremors (1990), Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996), Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001), and Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004).
