Eli Roth's "The Green Inferno" Postponed Indefinitely

According to reports at Dread Central, Eli Roth's "The Green Inferno" has been relieved of its previous release date and has yet to have been given a new one. Set to be released and financed through Worldview Entertainment, "The Green Inferno" now has an undetermined future since the sudden retreat of Worldview Entertainment's CEO, Christopher Woodrow. Since Woodrow's step down as CEO, the company is now being run by Molly Conners, whom has taken the responsibility of examining every financial deal that was made by the company while under the leadership of Woodrow - including "The Green Inferno", and until her team gives the green light, they are making no promises of a release date.

The plot centered around "The Green Inferno" includes a handful of student activists that take it upon themselves to venture into the Amazon rainforest in an effort to save it from corporate destruction. However, upon stumbling upon a tribe of cannibals, they soon discover that they are the ones who need saving.

According to the trailer, the tribe filmed in this movie is an actual Amazonian tribe that has never been filmed before.

Personally, I can't wait for this movie to finally be released. I caught the trailer some months ago and immediately made a note of it so I wouldn't forget. This news is very unfortunate and hopefully they can get all of the issues resolved as soon as possible. The trailer (seen above) definitely gives off a "Cannibal Holocaust" feel, but with more of a modern finish. With any luck, we will hear some good news about the release date very soon.
